Visiting Scholars Program
To find out more about our visiting scholars programs
We currently have visiting scholars programs with three countries, Taiwan, Slovakia, and Indonesia:
Berkeley-Taiwan Biomedical, LEAP, and ITRI Fellows Program
The GLOBE Center is delighted to work with the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Advanced Research Labs and ITRI to host visiting entrepreneurial fellows in the College of Engineering. Every year 4-6 fellows are hosted by UC Berkeley faculty with expertise in the area of the visiting fellow’s expertise. Fellows in all three programs focus on engaging with the Bay Area entrepreneurial ecosystem, whether it be coming to learn about the Bay Area start-up community and the fundamentals of establishing a start-up or develop their technology and business idea through engagement with Berkeley faculty and Bay Area community. The programs are the Berkeley-Taiwan-Biomedical Fellows, LEAP Fellows, and ITRI Fellows program. Current and past BTB and LEAP Fellows can be found here.
Slovak Republic Fellows
Leading scholars from the Republic of Slovakia are hosted for up to 6 months to conduct research with a host faculty in an area of intelligent transportation systems. Current partner institution: Žilina University.
Berkeley-Indonesian Visiting Scholars Program (BIVS)
Started in 2022, GLOBE is pleased to announce the beginning of the Berkeley-Indonesian Visiting Scholars Program, born in cooperation with the University of Indonesia, the Indonesian Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Consulate of Indonesia. Three outstanding fellows from the University of Indonesia excelling in Biotechnology and Sustainable Energy will be matched with suitable faculty and perform research on Berkeley campus.
