GLOBE Discovery Scholarship

Program Overview

Welcoming the spirit of global exploration, the GLOBE Discovery Scholarship, generously sponsored by the College of Engineering at Berkeley, is dedicated to providing financial support for Berkeley Engineering students pursuing internships outside the United States.

This scholarship is a catalyst for aspiring engineers eager to delve into international experiences, perfectly aligned with the College’s mission of cultivating future engineers equipped with a global vision.

By offering financial assistance to students to intern abroad, and inviting their cross-cultural experience back to our college, our goal is to nurture a globally-minded engineering community, initiate a global engineering landscape and bridge the gap between academic excellence and real-world exposure for future engineers.

As we prepare to open the application portal in February, students are encouraged to seize opportunities from our Internships & Study Abroad and outside resources.

The GLOBE Discovery Scholarship is more than financial support; it’s a pathway to global competence, an investment in the future of engineering, and an opportunity for students to architect change in an ever-evolving world.

Application

The application process will involve an application form. Funding amounts will be determined on a case-by-case basis after submission of the application form.  Priority will be given to students on financial aid, students who have never traveled abroad, and those students considering an internship in a country and culture with which they are not familiar.

The application will be on a rolling basis, so apply as soon as possible.
